Eligibility for ETO course: EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS The candidate must have passed 12th Board examination (Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects), from a Recognized Board. Minimum marks criteria is around 50% marks in P,C and M Subjects. Apart from this schooling requirement, candidate must also possess Diploma (3 years long course) or Bachelors Degree (4 years long B.E./B.Tech. program) in any of the following Discipline- Electrical Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering/Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering or other such relevant Branches. In case of Diploma holders, minimum marks criteria is 60% marks and in case of Degree holders case, it is 50% marks. MEDICAL AND PHYSICAL STANDARDS Candidate should be physically fit as per Merchant Shipping rules to take on sea faring role. Eyesight should also satisfy the norms set in Merchant Shipping rules. AGE LIMIT Candidate should not be more than 35 years of age at the time when the course starts.
