Of course yes, you need to appear in entrance exam (not just appear, but make sure you scores good grades) in order to be in top college for Aviation. The exams are; (1) All India Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Entrance Exam. It is conducted by Indian Institute of Aircraft Engineering, Delhi. It is MCQ based exam. (2) Common Defense Service Test. (3) Hindustan University Entrance Test. It is conducted by Hindustan University. It is MCQ based. (4) Joint Entrance Exam (Mains & Advance). It is conducted by CBSE. MCQ based. (5) National Defense Academy. It is conducted by Defense Academy itself. It is also MCQ based followed by interview and physical fitness tests. Out of the above mentioned, I would suggest you to appear is JEEs and NDA exam, if you are really serious about Aviation career. JEEs Exam will helps you to take admission in IITs for aerospace engineering while NDA helps you for IAF pilot training.
