JEE main score/rank is accepted by most of the state level engineering colleges . However still there are many colleges and states which conduct their own entrance test for which you don't have to be resident of same state.West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is open for other state students. Many students leave even top NITs to take admission in Jadavpur University (JU) which accept WBJEE rank to admit it's students. You may not get admission in all the government engineering colleges of West Bengal but many reputed private colleges are also there.Like Institute of engineering and management (IEM) Kolkata, Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) etc. Most of the outsider appears in WBJEE only for Jadhavpur University. Average package for CSE is around Rs 12 lakhs per annum and the fee is around Rs 54000 for two years. Best university in terms of return on investment. You can use your JEE Main marks to get admission in Madhya Pradesh. All India quota seats are there. You can appear for COMEDK and CUSAT entrance test. Many colleges in the Gujarat, Maharashtra and Orrisa provides admission on the basis of JEE Main. You can easily get good government engineering college in Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana also has all India quota and provide admission on the basis of JEE Main rank. Hope it helped.

Yes, definitely. People from many states take the examination for other states so there is no problem. There may be separate rules by the government or extra privileges may be given to the native students, but nowhere it is written or mentioned that the exams can only be taken by the local candidates. The most famous state engineering exams include ComedK which students take for Karnataka colleges. MHCET is taken for colleges located in Maharashtra, GujCET for Gujarat government colleges, Tamil Nadu Engineering Entrance Exam for colleges located in Tamil Nadu. Though there are many deemed government and autonomous universities which give special reservation which ranges from sixty to seventy percent and a nice fee waiver, for that one needs to go make extra efforts to get into the college. Also, mentioning the important point, many of the state government colleges accept JEE Mains marks too so one should take care of it and fill the form regarding the college on the basis of JEE Mains scores too. Hope it helped. Thank you.

Yes, all such students are allowed to appear for MH-CET and from 2018 MH-CET and JEE shall be clubbed together, so shouldn't be an issue. Exams like AIEEE allows all students across India. 1) Candidates belonging to general category must have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2. 2. Those candidates who belong to Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes or Other Backward Classes (OBC) must have scored at least 45% marks. 3. Candidates must be Indian citizens. Points to remember for those candidates claiming reservation for MHT-CET 2017: 1.Candidates while filing the application form for MHT CET 2017 must claim reservation while applying online. 2. Before the result is declared, the candidate must present the proof of claiming reservation. 3. In an event of failure to present the proof for reservation before the examination, the candidate will automatically be shifted to a general category. 4. Candidates must fill the appropriate section in the application form of MHT- CET 2017 while claiming reservation.
