Polytechnic is different than the 10+2 degree or intermediate degree. The criteria for admission in B.Tech 1st year in any colleges is 10+2 or intermediate. The criteria for Direct admission in second year is 3 years Diploma in engineering from a recognized college or university. However, a student can apply for an equivalence certificate "Polytechnic degree-equivalent to 10+2" to the department of polytechnic education of the district or the state where he have pursued the polytechnic degree. The equivalence certificate can also be get by the authorities "Registrar-Admission Department" of the college or university where you are seeking to get admission.
