As per the CAT Eligibility Criteria 2016, candidates should have passed or should be in the final year of their Bachelor’s Degree. The minimum duration of the Bachelor’s Degree or Graduation should be 3 years. For General and NC-OBC category candidates, the qualifying percentage is 50. The minimum percentage or equivalent CGPA to be obtained by the reserved category candidates is 45. Please check with your University to ensure you fall within this criteria.

The minimum criteria for students belonging to SC and ST to pursue MBA through most top colleges is 45% on aggregate in graduation from any stream. It might be hard for you in some colleges. But in colleges where reservation is there you might have a shot. But getting a good CAT score will boost your profile. So Yes, performing very good in CAT will definitely take you to colleges GD/PI.
