Long Answer: Since you appeared for UPESEAT and got a rank of 290, petroleum engineering can surely be an option. However, the thing is what 289 students before you choose. Admissions in UPES are granted on the basis of merit and a counselling sessions where students choose an engineering branch on the turn by turn basis as per their rank.
