Can I get into BITS-Pilani through JEE Mains?

Admission in BITS Pilani is based on BITSAT exam and not on JEE Mains.

BITS-Pilani is considered as no.1 among all the private engineering colleges so obvious there are some strict parameters of admission. BITS-Pilani does not allow admission through JEE Mains or Advanced exam. The college conducts its own exam called BITSAT and according to the rank in this exam, BITS-Pilani offers admission in its college. So, just for a guess, why BITS-Pilani does not accept JEE Mains core? BITS-Pilani is one of the reputed colleges among all engineering colleges even IIT takes 2 exams for admission then why BITS offer admission through a single exam? Why does BITS-Pilani does not accept JEE Advance exam? No doubt, JEE advance is one of the hardest exams, it may be accepted by BITS but here is also a problem of caste category that is strictly avoided by BITS. This college does not support caste reservation policy. So that's a reason I think BITS does not accept admission through JEE Mains and Advance exam. How are admissions offered? In BITSAT exam, a student has to score more than 300 marks out of 450 then only he/she can get admission into any of three campuses of BITS. Another one, if he/she is a state topper then that particular student can directly get admission in BITS.

BITS-Pilani is number one among all the private universities and it stands among top 30 engineering colleges in India. The college has a wide scope for students to learn and to share their knowledge. Getting admission into this college is very difficult the admission process is entirely different as to get into NITS, we take JEE Mains and then for IITs, we take JEE Advanced, to get into this probate university, we should appear for an exam called "BITSAT" which is conducted in the month of May every year with the same syllabus as JEE Mains. BITSAT-2017 Test Format: BITSAT-2017 will be of total 3-hour duration (without break). The test consists of four parts: Part I: Physics Part II: Chemistry Part III: (a) English Proficiency (b) Logical Reasoning Part IV: Mathematics or Biology (for B.Pharm candidates) All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions), each question with choice of four answers, only one being the correct choice. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1mark). No marks are awarded for questions not attempted. While the candidate can skip a question, the computer will not allow the candidate to choose more than one option as correct answer. There will be 150 questions in all. The number of questions in each part are as follows: Subject no. of questions Part I: Physics 40 Part II: Chemistry 40 Part III: (a) English Proficiency (b) Logical Reasoning: 15-20 Part IV: Mathematics/Biology (for B.Pharm): 45 Total: 150 Students who are able to score above 300 marks or above will get admission in BITS-Pilani. *Direct admission to board toppers*: In the past, admission process of the institute always ensures guaranteed admission to all the students who have obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations. This has given a very vital input of highly meritorious students from all over India. First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for every year will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2017 score as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above. BITS Pilani conducts its own entrance test BITSAT. But BITS Mesra takes admission on the basis of both JEE Mains and BITSAT but it considers only high ranks.You can check the cutoff of 2017.

No, you can't take admission in BITs through JEE Main marks. Birla Institute of Technology and Science is ranked 1 private engineering college of India and gives close competition to even the top IITs. BITs conducts its own entrance examination called BITSAT to admit its students. Level of BITSAT is not so high but time is limited. BITSAT asks some very basic questions, so your basics must be clear. Apart from, physics, chemistry and mathematics BITSAT also has english and aptitude questions. Generally, BITs Pilani conducts BITSAT in the mid of May. It's an online examination so marks will appear on screen just after your final submission.
