Civil engineering and architecture are two really different branches and hence it is not advisable to pursue architecture after doing civil as you must have already spent 4-years for B.Tech and B.Arch is for 5-years (which sums up to 9-years in total!). I will instead recommend you to do your Masters in Planning (M.Plan) or M.Arch in any of the streams of your choice so that you get a touch of architecture also and have your master degree too. However, the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi-110002, provides specialisation options for meritorious civil engineering graduates in its M.Arch. program and related fields. The school conducts the two-year M.Arch. program with a specialisation in architecture conservation, industrial design, and urban design; Master of building engineering and management program (MBEM); Master of landscape architecture (MLA) and Master of planning course with specialization in environmental planning, housing, regional planning and transport planning.
