GATE and GRE are two different boats and don't try to ride them simultaneously. If you want to pursue MS from abroad, then stay focused and note following carefully: 1. Your graduation percentage will be extremely important to record a healthy GPA. It needs to be 3.5/4 or above for good Universities. 2. Stay focused for your graduation and do not start preparation while in college. This is the common mistake done by many. Prepare for GRE after graduation. One important reason for this is that you need to submit your all semester mark sheets and degree/provisional degree while applying for admission. 3. Try to get campus placement and ideally work for a year which will further help in securing admission. 4. For sure admission in top colleges, you need to have GPA>3.5/4, GRE score>320/340, TOEFL score>105/120, work experience and well written "Statement of Purpose". If you want to give GATE exam, then it should be either for jobs in PSU sector or admission in IIT/NIT. For IITs, min cut off is 99 percentile and for NITs min cut off is 92 percentile. All study material, mock tests, how to apply, eligibility, etc. for both GATE & GRE/TOEFL are available free on line in official as well as other websites but you don't need them now. One thing which you can keep working during your graduation year is to develop strong aptitude and logical reasoning as these are important for both GRE and GATE.
