If you want to improve your vocabulary then read English Newspapers like Times of India or others but in general Times of India is helpful.

I will suggest only Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis. It is very much helpful in building your vocabulary. You can also go for The Hindu editorial.

You can start reading editorials (The Hindu is recommended by most of the folks). It's not necessary to start with reading all editorial pieces from day 1. Start with 1 or 2 with the topic which interests you the most. Then, you can gradually increase the number of editorials you read per day. If you specifically want novels, then I would recommend Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Leo Tolstoy, Lee Harper, etc. These have old schooled good English.
