Biotechnology is an emerging field which includes the applications of biological system for the benefit of humanity and the environment. It is a blend of subjects related to Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering. In the 21st century, biotechnology has impacted all living systems starting from the improvements in medicine, diagnosis and pharmaceuticals to food quality, agricultural systems, bio-resources, waste management and bio-fuels. B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology is a three-year degree programme. In the first two semesters the focus is on the core subjects of biotechnology to ensure a good grounding in the fundamental concepts. Specialization is offered in the second and third year. The course contents cover all aspects of the applied and core biotechnology including molecular biology, genetic engineering, plant and animal tissue culture, bioprocess technology, advanced microbial technology, intellectual property rights and patents, industry relations and entrepreneurship etc. Jaipur National University is best for this course.
