Afreed, An airline pilot operates a plane's engines and controls to navigate and fly the vessel. He or she also checks hydraulic and engine systems for pre-flight safety and monitors fuel consumption and aircraft systems in-flight. Yes, to be a pilot you need to do Aeronautical engineering. Aeronautical engineering is an upcoming specialization in the field of mechanical . It is a sub branch of Aerospace Engineering along with Astronautical Engineering. Aeronautical Engineering specializes in aircrafts, missiles and helicopters. A lot of companies hire aeronautical engineers for the construction of aircrafts, for efficiency testing, flight testing etc, for the design purposes, for the maintenance, functioning & manufacturing of aircrafts, for investigation of crashes, impact on environment etc, as air traffic controllers. Aspiring airline pilots are required to complete a certain number of hours of flight training to qualify for licensure. To obtain a commercial pilot's license, 250 hours of flight time - in addition to 1,500 hours of flight time for an airline transport pilot certificate - is required. Flight training can be completed through degree programs or through flying schools approved by the FAA. Airline pilots must also have a minimum of 40 hours of instrument flying experience in-air and through simulation. Instrument flying ratings demonstrate a pilot's ability to fly in low visibility conditions. For your engineering, you can join some good university. In some universities airlines Jet airways, Indigo airlines as well as Indian defense services come for recruitment thus making it easy for you to fulfill your dream. Good luck.
