First of all, abroad placements is not a big thing now. Many engineers got placed outside the country with a high package. The question arises how. Then is simply because of hard work, determination and immense passion. Now talking about IIT, Guwahati than its a big institute and you get ample of opportunities and a very large scope to build and develop yourself. One should not ignore the fact that, IIT still not guarantee a very high or even a definite placements. Its quality and efforts of the students which get them to their desired positions. Moreover talking at a static level, it is seen then you will have more chances of getting placed abroad if you from a core branch and a very good speaker. CSE, ECE, mechanical and many technical branches are in a dearth of the skill and passion. Though success does not depend on going abroad. You can also get a very good package in India too with more facilities in abroad. Hope it helps. Every engineer gets a thought of high pay placement and getting a job abroad. Placement of IIT, Guwahati is extremely good. Students get Pre-Placement Offers majorly after internship from Indian as well as companies abroad. One must always keep in mind the fact that no institute guarantees the industry of placement. IIT, Guwahati saw 12 job offers from Singapore. Uber came for the first time in 2014. Around 25 companies from various countries arrived at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati and recruited students with total 100 offers. WhatsApp being the top contributor along with Microsoft, VISA, Google and Thornton Tomasetti placed students with approximately 25 LPA. Oracle paid the highest of $140,000 (approximately Rs 93 LPA). The job depends on the branch of engineering. For Exempli Gratia, Computer Science has always been ahead from other branches for placement abroad. Even a person not being placed in campus gets a job abroad easily after the exchange programs and internships.
