It's impossible to get a good government college because it's too late so I would advise you to take admission in a college nearby your location.

Calcutta University starts the admission process in July. The session begins in September.

Dushyant, I doubt there are any govt.colleges left where you can go for admission in July, as most of them will be starting there session in July. You should try for admission in good private universities like Manavrachna, Lovely Professional University, Shri Mata Vaishno University, etc. The admissions in most of the private universities are going on these days and also the English Departments of the following universities are very good. All these universities have world class infrastructure with good placement assistance for even the Humanities students. Some even offer good scholarships.
