These two professions are totally different. Aeronautical engineering deals with the engine and aeroplane while commercial pilot license can be acquired once you complete your pilot training which may be of 6 months or more.

Dear, For both, you need to complete 10+2 with PCM. There is a common feature if you know engineering, you can understand nuances of flying an aeroplane quickly and correctly. If you are interested in engineering then chose AE and if you are interested to handle the controls, pilot training is a good but expensive option.
