Online MBA is growing these days, but you should prefer distance MBA, as it's more recognized in the industry. Some good Universities providing Distance MBA are Symbiosis and NMIMS.

Along with the management theories, distance MBA programmes instill in you, the qualities of leadership, discipline and balance which you can apply in your day to day life, including your workplace. Unless you ensure discipline and work-study balance, you would not be able to garner the benefits of distance MBA. Studies show that of all the students registering for a distance learning programme, less than 70% students begin with the course, 30-35% complete the course and only a meager margin of 5-10% students appear for the final test to attain certification. Hence, apart from your determination to study, it is extremely crucial to choose an institute with a proper accreditation which ensures your continuation of education abroad and provides you with the adequate amount of exposure for your success. NMIMS offers a 16-month distance PGDM programme which gives 96 credits so that you continue your management studies abroad. It has won the top distance learning institute in India award, for excellence in management in education, thus encouraging professionals to up their business game

Doing distant MBA is better than online. Master of business administration is one of the demanded course of education nowadays. According to the global HR policy, distant mode of MBA has less importance as compared to regular. Also, online education is just a knowledge improvement method of education. The validity of Such courses will add value to the CV in one aspect or the other. Doing distant course is also better than the online one beacuse there will be approved certificate for the distant mode of education. The approved certificate will help you in career building. Higher the validity of certificate more the chances of getting into a safer zone of your career life. Some companies prefer professionals with work experience as well as MBA certification. If it is authentic, a lot of opportunities will await you. Online mode just adds knowledge rather than authenticity.

To be honest, the choice of course for any program and whether or not it is the right choice, depends on your needs and goals. As far as an MBA program is concerned, the different modes of education have their own advantages and disadvantages. Distance education refers to course study where the educational institution is not located in the same city as the students. The study materials are handed over to the students in form of videos, notes and online programs etc; but the correspondences are done via post. Distance MBA course is more about self study where teachers are not involved. Whereas, Online MBA courses is entirely based on computer oriented classes, in which virtual interactions are more. Students are tutored through live online classes, and interactions and discussions are carried live with the teachers through video seminars. Most of the online learning tools are web based and cloud based and follows a blended learning environment. So depending upon your suitability choose accordingly. According to my suggestion distance MBA is slightly and more demandable then online MBA.
