Electrical Engineering is one of the core circuital branches and has been in existence for a long time. With the boom in technology, the need of better advancements in the energy sector has increased tremendously. So, generally speaking, the scope has changed much. There is still a lot of demand for Electrical Engineers. One thing I would like to mention is that change in the energy sector. Now, the world is trying to move towards the cleaner energy, so there are a lot of opportunities for research in this field. I believe in upcoming decades that clean energy would be a major concern of EEE engineers. Also, the world is looking to trash the gasoline run cars and trying to adopt electric cars and Tesla is leading this mission. That too would open a whole new world of opportunities for electrical engineers. Talking about the scope in conventional terms (lame terms) of placements and packages, electrical engineering is doing good. So, no need to worry about that. So, if you are passionate about the electrical engineering, go for it without thinking of scope.

Electrical Engineering has been amongst core branches over years with various dynamic opportunities into sectors like Telecom and Technology with diverse roles in all management levels. However, students favorite choice nowadays has been Computer Science, the reason being heavy packages on plate worth handsome perks. Electrical Engineering is still sought out but not amongst glam high salaried roles, overall it needs bit redemption to be hotcake sector once again, as the future holds tremendous opportunities into 5G and IoT coming it, with huge demand for Core Engineering as well as System roles. The overall scope globally has somewhat remained same past few years with major developed economies being advances in Technology development and research, so international opportunities look much bright than domestic careers. Hopefully, dynamics and landscape should change once Digital India becomes fully utilized and all resources are optimized at its optimum level such that demand rises exponentially for this branch.
