Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering disciplines. Mechanical Engineers are employed in Operations and Maintenance roles in Manufacturing and Services industry in all sector of economy. Some of the largest areas of employment of Mechanical engineers is in productions, machine tools, railway engineering, aerospace, the automobile industry, power plants, shipping & marine, armed forces and paramilitary forces etc. These sectors keep generating requirement of Mechanical engineers regularly. That is why, it is an evergreen branch with no cyclic trend in job market.

Yes, scope of mechanical engineering is seen day by day. Mechanical engineering deals with electrical, computers and auto mobile engineering. It deals with the system working of the appliances, the auto mobile and some part of information technology related with computer science and engineering. Though, bunch of knowledge is not seen with a large scale and limited with few skilled aspirants. moreover talking in the professional era, mechanical engineering have seen a wide and gradual changes from vintage cars to Lamborghini, from small wind mills to turbines and what not. The best part of mechanical engineering is that it directly related to the use of daily life in daily needs of the people making it an evergreen branch with scope in huge number of industries with nice job opportunities. The engineering part in the academic curriculum may have different perspectives in the beginning but commonly known for its wide application in auto mobiles engineering. Many students in mechanical engineering after graduation follows their path to auto mobiles or in various consultancy firms .in the academic syllabus mechanical engineering do not changed much because change has been witnessed by outer designing of the components and the new and updated gestures included in the components being a part of electrical engineering but the basic model and working of all appliances which one can see in the syllabus is definitely updated in the mechanical engineering. At the last summarizing all talking about future scope mechanical engineering will definitely going to rule this in upcoming generations.

Mechanical Engineering is definitely the most extensive and vast branch of engineering. It deals with Design, manufacturing, Analysis and a lot of other stuff. See, There are technological Advancements happening in every branch of engineering every day. The scope of mechanic engineering hasn't changed with time. It can be said that applications have changed with time with the technological advancements. Nowadays, engineering has not remained confined to itself and its sub branches but nowadays interdisciplinary engineering is in trend. The increase of mechanical engineering with electrical part gives rise to more robust interfaces and example is TESLA cars and modern robots, that definitely require mechanical systems on one hand but definitely are improved by application of other branches. Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest branches in engineering. Its applications are broad and important. With technological developments, the scope of the branch is very dynamic. First mechanical engineering was confined to mechanical parts and analysis only, then with the development of systems like the engine and all, the mechanical engineering took a complete leap in automobile developments. What I mean to say is that as the new systems are developed, we become focused on improvisation of those systems. Also, the methods and how we perceive and calculate various parameters have changed. Earlier the calculations were done manually and it was time-consuming. Now big calculation can be done in a fraction of seconds with advanced computer tools. The scope remains the same, the ideas remain the same, what we see now is the advancements and its merging with other branches of science for definitely better advancements. So, it can be said that the scope of mechanical engineering has not changed but the application has changed drastically. Mechanical is an evergreen branch. Its scope will always be there and it hasn't changed with time. Hope this helps. ALL THE BEST

Mechanical Engineering once known as the mother of all branches, has it lost its scope? I don't think so. Mechanical engineering is related to many things for it to lose its scope. So has the scope changed? Let me think. Actually speaking, it has changed a bit but not too much. The only major change mechanical engineering has seen is its fusion with technology. As the world advance towards a tech-based world, even mechanical engineering needs to incorporate technology to become better than before. The best example you would see is the rise of electric cars. The world is trying to eradicate gasoline-powered vehicles and shift to electric cars with Tesla on the forefront of the mission. So, even mechanical engineers will be concerned with working in these types of projects in the future. Surely, the world can't survive (actually thrive) without mechanical engineering.
