NITs are the premier engineering institutes in India. NIT Calicut is one these NITs and is pretty well known all over India. According to the National Institute ranking framework it stands at 44th rank among all the engineering colleges in India. For Chemical Engineering out of 70 students who enrolled for placements only 38 were placed. Minimum salary offered was 4.5 LPA while the average salary offered was 7.4 LPA. Maximum package offered was 12.5 LPA. So the placements for chemical were decent at NIT Calicut. For placement report visit first link in search results –

Chemical engineering is among the best course of engineering in terms of training, education placement, research and further studies. National Institute of Technology Calicut is good Institute of Engineering. The placement record at National Institute of Technology, Calicut for chemical engineering is good. The placement ratio is around 60 to 70% placement. The average package of chemical engineering is around 5 to 7 LPA. Since chemical engineering is an evergreen field, the placements of this branch will increase with good amount of packages. Companies like, Reliance Industries, Lupin Pharma, Essar Group, PepsiCo, Dabur, etc. take students from here. This all credit goes to training and placement cell department of NIT, Calicut. So it is really good to do chemical engineering from reputed institute. So the placement ratio of NIT, Calicut is around 60 to 70% and in future it will be like this only for chemical engineering no and other top engineering fields. Many pharma companies take a huge number of Chemical Engineers in their Companies by offering good packages.
