How are the placements of B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from SASTRA University?

SASTRA University is a private university though very old and well established. The placements stats are quite nice when it comes to core branches such as CSE, IT and EC. Also, most of the students in India want to get a core stream, still, the people from many parts give priority to their passion and interest and thus choose other branches than the core ones. Being at the prime location of India, where there is a hub of many global and national corporates, it gets the attention and hence many companies visit every year to recruit students. When it comes to placement statics from CSE, it is not more than 5 LPA as the curicullum and the arrangement of the course is still not well implemented according to the needs of the corporates and to achieve a high salary package. Though this a regular trend, one can achieve a good package and the highest placement is around 11 LPA for chemical engineering which is absolutely exceptional. The placements at SASTRA University are one of the best, and you can be assured of a job in an Information Technology (IT) company, if not a core company. The university boasts of an astonishing record of 95% placements, where the only students who do not get placed are the ones who choose to pursue higher studies. You need not worry about not getting a job for the same reasons. The companies for Chemical Engineering students include: Chemplast Sanmar Ltd. Chemtex Engineering India Ltd. Neycer Ceramics Petro Araldite Pvt. Ltd. Numaligarh Refinery Limited Ranbaxy Chemicals Reliance Petrochemicals Ltd. Shasun Chemicals Ltd. Thirumalai Chemicals Ltd. Manali Petrochemicals Ltd. and many more. There are IT companies too, such as IBM, Wipro Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Accenture, L & T Infotech and a lot more. The average salary package here ranges from 4.5 - 5 lakh per annum, while the highest package was given by PayPal - 29 lakh per annum. There will therefore be plenty of opportunities for you, here. There's a funny saying - If you get admit into SASTRA, you are a future TCS employee. Every year, atleast 80% of all engineering students get into TCS. And some companies are CGPA biased. Above 8.0 or 8.5 will allow you to sit in some good companies like Ashok Leyland, EBay, etc. So, get above 8.0 and it's almost a guarantee that you’ll get a job. SASTRA has atleast 100+ companies as regular recruiters. There's no way that an average talented guy can go without an offer. Regarding the package also, yes, we have AMAZON, PAYPAL, THOROGOOD, CISCO, MICROSOFT who are paying between 11 LPA TO 24 LPA. All you need to crack amazon or PayPal is pure skill in coding or programming with a minimum CGPA of 7.5. Speaking of average package, we have a pot including ZOHO, GOFRUGAL, MUSIGMA, IBM, INAUTIX, FRESH DESK, BYJUS, TVS, HYUNDAI, HONEYWELL, etc. Who are giving a package between 4LPA to 6 LPA. Most companies in this list don't have stringent eligibility criteria. Over and above, these few major recruiters, SASTRA attracts a lot of startup and small scale enterprises like NOLOGO, NORTON, SUNMAR, SUPER GAS, TAFE, FACE, MURUGAPPA are paying a decent package of 2.5 to 4 LPA. Sastra doesn't release its stats. So, all the information above is based on what its students said on the web.
