Although, the college has a disadvantage of being located in a town, which makes it a problem to attract the local companies but the IIT tag itself is enough to attract the core companies. IIT-Kharagpur is an IIT, that too a top IIT. And like what the cream is for the cake, B.Tech in CSE from IIT, Kharagpur is for engineering. The placements at IIT, Kharagpur from computer science and engineering are amazing. Keep aside placements, there are plenty of Pre-Placements offers to students at IIT Kharagpur. Do a search on the internet and you will find IIT Kharagpur in the headlines for the highest package in the country. Not just a single time but a few times. Like every year, the placements of the last season saw several records being broken and a few being made. Whether it be 2 crores pre-placement offer from Google or record-breaking 12 offers from Adobe, IIT Kharagpur stole the news headlines for the year. Apart from this, non-core companies like Deutsche Bank offered 12 placements setting yet another record.
