Computer science and engineering is the best engineering branch nowadays. IT sector is growing rapidly. Talking about the placements of computer science engineering at IIT Roorkee, almost 100% ratio is seen every year. The average package of CSE engineering at IIT, Roorkee is around 9 to 11 LPA. Many multinational companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, etc. visit here and offer good packages to computer engineers. Companies like Walmart, Accenture, TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Adani group, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Samsung, Qualcomm, etc. take students from here. Since CSE branch is good and evergreen, the placement ratio of CSE branch will also increase in future with good amount of packages by the companies. Talking about the IITs, all IITs placement ratio will also increase or the packages will increase because IITs are the top most engineering institutes worldwide.

IIT Roorkee is one of the old IITs and one of the well-reputed institutes in India, so you don't have to worry about placements. According to the NIRF's ranking, it is ranked at 6th position which is really impressive. Let's go through its placement report of 2016-17 for CSE engineering. The total percentage of placed students from CSE is around 85% (this is low because the calculations also include students who opted out of placements for higher studies or some other reasons. If we neglect those students it will be above 90%). Going forward, 100 percent students opted for software companies and no one went for consulting or finance, unlike other departments. The average CTC for CSE was around 23.22 LPA which again is an excellent metric. So, the placement scenario looks pretty good for CSE in IIT-Roorkee as such. Being one of the best and also the oldest institutes of the Indian subcontinent, IIT-Roorkee is the best place to do engineering in any branch. Specifically, talking about CSE, it is excellent. The coding culture is better than any other college. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee is one of the best in India, producing quality engineers and coder for decades. It gives an outstanding research environment complemented by perfection in teaching. The Department offers B.Tech, M.Tech., Ph.D. and Dual (M.Tech. + Ph.D.) degrees. The Department has a broad curriculum on topics related to all aspects of Computer Hardware and Software with an importance on practical learning. Okay, this was about the branch. We are here to talk about Placements. IIT-Roorkee CSE placements are one of the best in engineering. Almost all recruiters hire from CSE, there are tons of offers. To get an idea, let me name a few- Dell, Flipkart, Google, HP, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Oracle, ServiceNow, Snapdeal, Thornton Tomasetti, Visa Inc., Vodafone, Walmart, etc. The highest placement from CSE is about 77 LPA in INR but sometimes it touches 1 crore. The average domestic package is 17 LPA. The placement percentage is about 92%.

In the year 2016-17, almost 81% of the students who appeared for the placements got placed with an average package of 17-18 lakhs per annum, the highest package was 1.25 crores by Uber. The minimum package offered was 10 lakhs per annum and the companies coming to recruit students include Microsoft, Uber, Delloite, Directi, Amazon, Adobe, Facebook, Flipkart, Google India, Samsung, Cognizant, Wipro, Oracle, etc. Hope this helps.
