The placements of this college is the best of all NITs of this branch and the highest pack of this branch is 35 Lacs per annum, plus perks and some good companies like odadone, Bajaj, Havells, Samsung, Philips, Siemens, ABB, Aircel, Hutch, Essar, Thermax, larsen and Toubro etc. Visits this campus every year.

NITs are the premier institutes for engineering after the IITs. NIT, Surathkal is one of the top NITs and is known across the India. According to the National Institutional, Ranking Framework NIT Surathkal ranks 22nd among the engineering colleges in India. For electronics and communication engineering, last year (2016-17) out of 92 students who applied to placements from ECE department 87 students were placed meaning 94.5 percent placement for ECE which is quite an impressive number. For ECE the minimum salary offered was Rs 3.3 lakhs per annum. The average salary was Rs 8.19 lakhs per annum and the maximum salary was Rs 16 lakhs per annum. All these figures suggest pretty good placements at NIT, Surathkal.
