NIT-Surathkal ranks 3rd for placements by NASSCOM in the year 2016 and also ranks 22 by NIRF since last two years. Some excellent dedication seen by TPO and assistance given by Placements Committe in bringing top companies in designing MOU for 3 years consecutively. For EEE students, some special Networking and Mechatronics, as well as core electrical program and competition, is held to encourage more participating in the technical development and scholarship are also awarded to meritorious students. Placements Scenarios for EEE branch- Median Package:- 10 LPA Average package:- 6 LPA Highest package:- 35 LPA by Philips Percentage placed:- 80% only. Some top recruitment companies are Vodafone, Bajaj, Havells, Samsung, Philips, Siemens, ABB, Aircel, Hutch, Essar, Thermax, Larsen and Toubro, Thyseen Krup, Linde Group. Here are some of the insights of the college. Intake:- 110 (EEE) Placements:- Th average package offered is Rs 8.39 Lacs per annum for EEE and the highest is Rs 18.57 Lacs per annum. 95.40% students have been placed. Recruiters:- Wipro Lighting Corporate, Schnider Electric. Bajaj Electrical Ltd. , Siemens, Alstom Corporate, Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd, Crompton Greaves, Havells India Limited.

NITs are the premier institutes for engineering after the IITs. NIT, Surathkal is one of the top NITs and is known across the India. According to the National Institutional, Ranking Framework NIT Surathkal ranks 22nd among the engineering colleges in India. For electrical and electronics engineering, last year (2016-17) out of 81 students who applied to placements from EEE department 73 students were placed meaning 90.1 percent placement for EEE which is quite an impressive number. For EEE the minimum salary offered was Rs 3.3 lakhs per annum. The average salary was Rs 8.3 lakhs per annum and the maximum salary was Rs 22 lakhs per annum. All these figures suggest pretty good placements at NIT, Surathkal.

National Institute of Technology-Surathkal along with NIT-Trichy and NIT-Warangal is considered as the best among all National Institute of Technologies. Obviously, computer science and engineering is the best branch there but electrical and electronics engineering branch is not behind too. Faculty members are very good and qualified. The campus has its own private beach which acts as the cherry on the cake. EEE branch there has a very good placement record. Here is the highlights of the placement for EEE: For the year 2017: Total number of eligible candidates: 81 Total number of students placed: 73 Percentage of batch placed: 88 percent Highest package offered was around 20 LPA. For the year 2016: Total number of eligible students: 85 Total number of students placed: 77 Percentage of batch placed: 90 percent. Hope it helped. Thanks.
