. Every year, around 1000 to 1500 students appear for the placement process. In terms of the average salary offered, generally, the figure is around Rs 9 to Rs 12 lakhs per annum with the highest package being offered around Rs 40 to Rs 50 lakhs per annum. I believe it is possible to get a high paying job in CS/ECE/EE these days just out of college. However money is not the only thing you should look for in your career start, ideally, you should look for career growth. Hope this helps! All the Best!

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur was instituted in May 1950 and started its academic program in August 1951. Built as one of the major departments of the Institute, since its inception in 1951, the Department of Electrical Engineering is actively engaged in teaching and research. With modern laboratories and excellent members of the faculty, the Department of Electrical Engineering offers two undergraduate programs in electrical engineering and instrumentation engineering.
