IIT Madras is one of the best college for engineering and placement also very good. In the 2017 year IIT Madras provide a good placement for students. IIT Madras witnessed a decent increase in the salary packages of the student graduating from the reputed institute. Considering the placement report of 2017 of IIT Madras out of 1220 students are only 823 students got placed with the average placement package of Rs 8.9 lakhs per annum and highest placement package considering all the branches was Rs 68. 5 lakhs per annum. Total percentage of students place considering all the students in the campus was 69.4 % were 24 pre placement offers were made. Also, 248 companies showed up during the placement season of the college making a total of 905 throughout. Being branch specific, the highest placement package offered to the students of IIT Madras in electrical department for Rs 17.8 lakhs with the average placement package being Rs 7 to Rs 8 lakhs, with a handful of core electrical companies showing up for placements. So if you are still in the dilemma of whether to join this college for the electrical branch you should make a go for it without a doubt. Hope this answers your question. Cheers.

Electrical Engineering is among the core branches of Engineering. IIT-Madras is at the top among all the IITs. Talking about the placements of Electrical Engineering at IIT-Madras, it is almost 90%. The average package of Electrical Engineering at IIT-Madras is around 6 to 8 LPA. Many multinational companies visit here and offer a good package to Electrical Engineers. Companies like Reliance Industries, PepsiCo, Glenmark, Wipro, Asian Paints, Sun pharma, Dr.Reddy's, Zydus Wellness, Cadila Pharma, Adani Group, HPCL, BPCL, Lodha Group, Samsung, Paytm, Ashok Leyland etc. Since EE Branch is best and evergreen, the placement ratio of EE branch will also increase in future with a good amount of packages by the companies. Electrical engineering is the main branch of the engineering along with mechanical and computer science as it is one of the most demanding branches in the field of engineering. IIT, Madras is the most premium institute in terms of placement, exposure, faculty, infrastructure and other research-driven facilities. So talking about placement packages are not very high for electrical engineering initially but as you will gain experience in your field in the handling of the complex situation then you will grow. IIT will equip you with skills and knowledge but the experience you have to gain. The package ranges from Rs5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for the electrical graduate. Companies like L&T, ABB, BHEL, BEL, RAILWAYS, PSU and other Pvt firms made offers to the candidate but some of the students wish to pursue highest studies and some opt for civil service but overall placement is very good. So if you have caliber you can easily make a great career.
