Considering the placement report of 2017 of IIT Madras out of 1220 students are only 823 students got placed with the average placement package of Rs 8.9 lakhs per annum and highest placement package considering all the branches was Rs 68. 5 lakhs per annum. Total percentage of students place considering all the students in the campus was 69.4 % were 24 pre placement offers were made. Also, 248 companies showed up during the placement season of the college making a total of 905 throughout. Being branch specific, the highest placement package offered to the students of IIT Madras in electrical department for Rs 17.8 lakhs with the average placement package being Rs 7 to Rs 8 lakhs, with a handful of core electrical companies showing up for placements.
