NITs are the premier engineering institutes in India. NIT Calicut is one these NITs and is pretty well known all over India. According to the National Institute ranking framework it stands at 44th rank among all the engineering colleges in India. For engineering physics out of 12 students who enrolled for placements only 2 were placed. One got a salary of 4.5 LPA and other got a salary of 4.2 LPA making the average salary 4.35 LPA as such. You should know that Engineering physics is mainly a research based branch so placements are ought to be less as compared to other branches. For placement report visit first link in search results-

Being a National Institute of Technology you can ensure yourself the best placements. The companies that make rounds for recruiting engineering physics students for the placement drive every year are: Cypress, Total Environment Building Systems Pvt. Ltd, Symphony, TCE Consulting Engineers, HSBC Bank, WAPCOS, VizExperts, LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd., MAYTAS Gammon India, Computer Science Corporation, Foster Wheeler Nortel Technology, Excellence Centre Pvt. Ltd., The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), Greaves Cotton Limited KENNAMETAL. The average placement package for engineering physics students for the year 2017 is around Rs 4.5 lakhs and the highest placement package offered to the students of the same batch was around Rs 17 lakhs. Also, the total batch placement percentage is around 65%. So I would recommend you to join the branch only if you are passionate about it and not for the sake of placements itself. Hope this helps. National Institute of Technology, Calicut is one of the best NITs of the country. It has been ranked 44th by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2017. The college is well known for its placement and is very stable in terms of faculties and infrastructure. The probability of getting placement is fairly high in branches like computer science and engineering (CSE) and electronics and communication engineering (ECE). Placement in other branches is also very good but when we talk about engineering physics' placement then you will find ups and downs in the percentage of students placed. In the session 2015-16, placement was 63% but this year it dropped up to 16%. Here are the highlights of the placement in engineering physics (last two years) #2015-16 No of companies visited the campus: 25 No of students registered for Placement: 11 Total no of students placed: 7 Average package: 4.2 Lacs per annum #2016-17 No of companies visited the campus: 14 No of students registered: 12 No of students placed: 2 Average package offered: 4.3 Lacs per annum Highest salary offered: 4.5 Lacs per annum Lowest salary offered: 4.2 Lacs per annum. Overall placement of the institute is very good. 412 students, it packages above 5 Lacs per annum and 20 got package above 20 Lacs per annum.Total no of offers last year was 682 with 28 double offers.
