Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is one of the best government colleges in India and it ranks in top 5 colleges of India. It has to offer many courses out of which industrial engineering course offered by IIT Kharagpur has about 120 seats to the students. IIT Kharagpur is known for its infrastructure and knowledgeable faculties with about 5 to 10 years of experience teaching in college. Facilities provided by the college are really good like Wi-Fi Sports Complex and labs with better equipment and machines. The companies that comes for the placement IIT Kharagpur for industrial engineering are as follows Abbot | Accenture | Barclays Bank | Blue Star | CapGemini | Crompton Greaves | Deloitte | Flipkart | Google | HCL | Hero Moto Corp | HONEYWELL | HP | Indian Navy | Infosys | ITC | Microsoft | MU Sigma | Nagarro | Oracle | PricewaterhouseCoopers | Samsung | SAP | Yahoo | ZS Associates I would like to say that it is quite good, as already 90-95% students have been placed. The companies which selected them, include some big names like Walmart Labs, Amazon, Optym and many more companies. Regarding the salary which has been offered, the average was around 11.5-12 lakhs. First of all, we are talking about one of the best colleges in India where one cannot expect the placement to be just average. Most of the students in IIT, Kharagpur pursue a dual degree course in industrial engineering and management at the same time, the placement for which was around Rs 35 lakhs to Rs 40 lakhs but was given to a handful of students with extraordinary profiles. With just an undergraduate degree one can expect to the placement of around Rs 8 lakhs on an average, with the highest package of around Rs 25 lakhs. Now let me tell you the pros and cons of placement at IIT Kharagpur : Pros:- College managers to attract the best of the companies in India. The average placement package for any branch of engineering does not go below Rs 6 lakhs. Cons:- Considering the branch one cannot really depend on off campus placements unless having an extraordinary profile. By all means, you can consider taking up industrial engineering had to college, which is going to ensure you a well-paid job in future. I hope this helps.

IIT-Kharagpur is one of the most prestigious institutes of the country and is well known for its remarkable excellence and hard work it puts for the research and academic purpose. Industrial engineering is not very famous but a well-arranged fusion of marketing strategy and technology. With a number of increasing industries, there is a need of industry engineers which will guide and lead a company at the corporate and technical level. Talking about the placements, there is a very nice placement scenario and a long list of alumni working in big corporates or setting up their own business and doing well in that. A skilled industrial engineer would get a package of 10 to 15 LPA easily if performed well in the interview and screening sessions. The average placement for a branch is around 8 to 9 LPA, but it finds a large scope in the upcoming world. Also, it is a great part of life to study in precious institutions and get to learn a lot of things from it which will help you to shape and develop your skills for future. IIT-Kharagpur is one of the old IITs and one of the premier institutions in the country. I don't think you need to worry about the placements if you are going there. The brand name itself is enough. Many students from IITs and NITs finally end up in different sectors than engineering and what defines them is their college and not their branch. Anyways, industrial engineering has a good scope and also has decent placements around 85% (approx). Many students from industrial engineering also go for jobs in other sectors like IT, Finance, Banking, consulting, etc. The course structure is well balanced, the faculty is pretty good. It's up to the student to make the most out it.
