First of all, mechanical engineering deals with the working and functioning of electrical appliances and motor vehicles which find large scope in the future markets. Not as a CSE student, a large scale field work is required and mechanical students keep of developing themselves working in their respective workshops and their live projects. When it comes to placements, one should be knowing about the curriculum and the working of the mech. department in LPU. Here, there is a separate tower for mechanical students and a very remarkable history of achievements made by the students only. LPU is basically an industry oriented university not like the other universities focusing on just making students grasp the syllabus. Many people have their views that LPU students study less but to complete the statement, I would say that the students study less but work hard. The most prominent and wide tech fest for mech students GO Kart takes place in LPU for consecutive years and LPU is bagging the top position in the race. Also, the cars are designed, build and the coordination of the event is done by the mech students only. Placements: There are more than 100 companies that are coming in LPU for placements of mech. students. It varies from 3 Lacs per annum to 12 Lacs per annum. On an average, the placements are 5 Lacs in a very core company which gradually sees a couple of rapid promotions based on your hardwork. So find everything here at LPU and explore as much as you can. Thank you.

The highest packages are INR. 21 lacs, but it is out campus placement and average is around INR. 4 lacks in LPU. So, it all depend on you that how you perform in your B.Tech, if you are very good, then you will surely get placed with good package.

For mechanical engineers aspiring to work in their core field, LPU is not a very great option. Though some good companies come to hire mechanical guys but still only a few of them get selected. It's around 20% who gets selected, most of the mechanical students get placed in IT companies in LPU. Average package of 3-5LPA is offered.

I would not suggest you to opt for LPU for any branch other than CSE. For any other thing, you won’t be able to find anything good other than infra and placements.

LPU provides ample opportunities to each and every eligible students to secure good placement. The university has been ranked high by outer agencies also with regard to placements of our students. Aspiring Minds have ranked LPU as having Most Employable Students in consecutively twice in a row for previous academics sessions. ASSOCHAM (Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India) rated LPU as Best Private University with regards to placements. Zee News Survey rated us as 11th Best in India in Placements. Several Big Brands of the industry have visited LPU campus during academic session 2015-2016 for campus placements, students training/workshops, faculty development, etc. and the process is still going on at full pace. Around 150+ companies visit every year for campus-placement of students from LPU. And this year already more than 180 placement drives till Feb 2017 of leading industry giants have been conducted successfully (more than 90% being MNCs) for students passing out in 2017. For Instance, during Day-1 this year (batch 2016) Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) and Tech Mahindra extended 799 placement offers to engineering students of LPU in one go. In case of ME, 73% (students with multiple offers) of the placement had been recorded with maximum package of Rs.5.4 Lakh.
