Mechanical engineering is among the best engineering courses in terms of training, education, placements, research and further studies. The placements at National Institute of Technology, Surathkal for Mechanical is really very good. The placement ratio is almost 90%. Many multinational IT companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, etc., visit the campus every year and take students from here. The average package is around 8 to 10 LPA. Since ME is among the evergreen fields, the placements of this branch will increase with a good amount of package. Companies like Ranbaxy, Sun Pharma, Oracle, Birla Cellulose, Raymond, Volvo, Reliance Industries, Tata Advanced Materials, Aditya Birla Group, Siemens, Kirloskar, Godrej, Diesel Logistics limited, Lodha Group, Brenntag, Glenmark, Torrent Pharma, Asian Paints, etc., recruit students from here. All the credit goes to the training and placement cell department of NIT, Surathkal. So, it is really good to do Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute or university if someone is really interested in this and is in the search better packages and further studies. A huge number of job opportunities are there in future for Mechanical Engineers in public sector undertakings (PSUs), government sector and big industries under Make In India Initiative. So, the placement ratio of NIT-Surathkal is almost 90% and in future, it will be like this only for mechanical engineering and other top engineering fields.
