NITs are the premier institutes for engineering after the IITs. NIT-Warangal is one of the top NITs and is known across India. According to the National Institute Ranking Framework, NIT-Warangal ranks 34th among the engineering colleges in India. For Mechanical Engineering, last time (2016-17) out of 85 students who applied to placements from the Mechanical department, 75 students were placed meaning 88.23 percent placement for Mechanical which is quite an impressive number. For Mechanical, the minimum salary offered was 3.5 LPA. The average salary was 6.5 LPA and the maximum salary was 15 LPA. All these figures suggest pretty good placements at NIT-Warangal. Wide range of companies like Caterpillar, Michelin, Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Volvo, Larsen and Toubro, Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL), etc., recruit students for various positions in their respective companies.
