Manipal Institute of Technology is among the top private colleges in India, and once had a great reputation for excellence in academics, faculty and placements. Although if core company placements are what you are looking for then it is not the right place for you, as most numbers of offers are made by corporate IT companies while the number of core company placements in the college is only around 10%. So, most of the students end up taking IT corporate jobs, giving up packages of nothing more than 4 lacs. The average placement packages offered for mechanical engineering branch in Manipal Institute of Technology is around 5 lacs and the highest placement package being on the batch of 2017 being around 8 lacs. The total placement percentage for the whole was around 90% and hence the college ensures you of a job even though you fail to perform well in academics. Hence, one can consider taking admission in this college but you should consider this as your last option to resort at. Good luck!

Manipal Institute of Technology (School of Engineering) is one of the famous colleges with mechatronics and automation being one of the best courses offered by Manipal Institute of Technology. There are about 120 seats for the Mechatronics and Automation Engineering in Manipal Institute of Technology and 100% of the students get placed during the placement season, but most of the students get placed in the non-core jobs and have less salary (around 2-3 LPA). Now, we'll talk about placements in the college. There are a few instrumentation and control or electronics engineering and sometimes automobiles companies that recruit students, but if you compare with other branches then it may seem like you and your batchmates look like a dumber lot. If you are interested in mechanical and automation course and take it by choice and not by force, it really puts you in a better place. There are many passionate alumni in this branch who are really on the path to bring changes in the industry. Mechatronics from Manipal Institute of Technology does make it to the news with students which promises a growth of this emerging field and a supportive department as well. Now, the main part, the average placement package for mechatronics or automation is about 3-4 LPA. Hope it helps.
