Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay is one of the best colleges in India. It is well known for its infrastructure, faculty and facilities provided by Indian Institute of Technology is top notch. It offers many course to the students in which metallurgical engineering is the course that deals with Metallurgical development in the extraction or using metallurgical elements in use. There are many companies that come for the placement for metallurgical engineering are as follows: 3M | AC Neilson | ACCENTURE | Adobe | Amazon | Barclays Bank | Blue Star | Essar Cellular | GE Capital Services | General Motors | HSBC | Infosys | McKinsey | Microsoft | Morgan Stanley | Motorola | Musigma | ONGC | Oracle | Qualcomm | Sandisk | Xilinx Now let's talk about placement: Placements at IIT are definitely the best among engineering colleges. 421 B.Tech students and 185 dual degree students were placed last year. The highest package offered was 2.5 million, and the average package was 1.2 million. A lot of intern offers are there for the 2nd and 3rd-year students. If a student is interested in any field, he/she can get an internship easily. Mostly, INR 10000 per month stipend is offered, but one can apply to different places on their own. There is a good chance of getting an internship if you are from IIT Bombay. Analytics, consulting, engineering, IT/software, finance, research and development, FMCG, education, etc. are the sectors in which students are placed.

IIT-Bombay is one of the most famous IITs. IIT-Bombay is the second oldest institute established by the government. Metallurgical and Materials Engineering educate students on the verticals of physical and chemical properties of different metals. Broadly, this engineering branch deals with all types of metal related areas. Here are few data records for Metallurgical and Material Science (MEMS) placements at IIT-B. 56 B.Tech, 46 M.Tech, 44 Dual degrees and 26 Ph.D students are studying in IIT-Bombay. Total 117 internships have been offered in 2017, 112 internships were offered in 2016, 101 internships were offered in 2015 to students of MEMS. Students from IIT-Bombay are placed in different companies. Around 130 students got placed in 2016 and around 110 students were placed from MEMS in 2015. The total placement by IIT-B is 84.37% for B.Tech programme, 80.32% for M.Tech programme and 82.17% for dual degree courses in 2016. Summer and winter internship sessions by 88 companies. The average salary of a Bachelor's degree holder from IIT-Bombay is between Rs 7.5 to Rs 8 LPA for MEMS branch and the overall average salary is Rs. 11.41 LPA. The salary will increase with experience.
