Anna University is one of the best colleges for engineering in India. It is known for old and architectural infrastructure faculty with great experience and knowledge facilities provided by it like sports complex, Wi-Fi and labs are well equipped by the instruments and machines. There are many colleges which are affiliated to Anna University. Agriculture and irrigation engineering is one of the new courses which has been started after 2010 due to this there are not many companies which have been interested to take these engineers in the companies. Agriculture and irrigation engineering deals with the problems of agriculture and the irrigation processes of the field and maintaining them. Placement of the students of agriculture and irrigation engineering is one of the worst placements that can a student can have. Placement of the students of agriculture and irrigation engineering is about 2 to 3 LPA therefore most of the students do don't take the jobs of but go for higher studies in different fields like MBA or UPSC, etc.

This question is totally dependent on the fact that what you want after 4 years of your undergraduate programme. If the placement is what you want after completion of your undergraduate programme then you are at risk as the number of core companies attracted by the college for agriculture and irrigation engineering at Anna University is quite less which is seen by the total placement package being just 30%. The scenario is different if you aspire for the best of the knowledge and the faculty then this is the best place for you to pursue agricultural and irrigation engineering, provided that you are passionate about the branch and don't have placement in mind anywhere. The average placement package for the batch of 2017 was around 3.5 lacs with the highest placement package offered to the students being 8 lacs. And Survesh recommends you to join Anna University considering what you want from the future and how long do you aspire to study in this field. I hope you do well Good luck!

The placement period for CEG is in the month of September (Dream companies will come like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. More than 10 Lacs package per annum), October (some of the dream companies Dell, HP, etc. 4 to 8 Lacs package and bulk hiring companies like Infosys, Accenture, IBM, CTS, etc. 3.2 to 4 Lacs package). After October startups (4 to 6 lacs package per annum) will visit in the month of November. But agricultural and irrigation engineering profile jobs offering companies are lesser in number as compared to the placements in the other branches like computer science or electrical engineering. Hope this helps! All the best!
