Electronics and telecommunication engineering is the most sought after branch in Jadavpur University. This can be seen by the facts that the cut-off for admission to Electronics and Telecommunication engineering is around 350 while that for computer science engineering just being 190, which is just the opposite of what happens at other engineering colleges. Apart from a few honorable placements in CSE by amazon for around 26 lacs, the placement in both the departments are almost equivalent. Companies that make rounds during the placement season for 2017 are: IBM, RELIANCE INDIAN LIMITED (RIL), CISCO, FACEBOOK and many others, being the core companies to their respective fields. Many of the core electronics and telecommunication companies visit the campus during the placement season who offer nothing less than 12 lacs. And so if one is considering to join this college, he or she would be placement ensured to be studying in Jadavpur University in the same branch. I hope this answer helps you to make a decision. Cheers!
