Some institutes offer admission on the basis of the candidates performance in a relevant entrance exams. The selection process for the course may vary according to the norms and rules set by the institution or the university to which the college is affiliated. Aspiring eligible candidates need to qualify a relevant entrance exam for admission to the course, such as the EYECET, which is a centralized common entrance test designed to assess the applicants aptitude in optometry. Another such test is the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Optometry test for admission to the course.
