Stages to become a Company Secretary: The student who would like to join the Course after 10+2 pass or equivalent has to undergo three stages to pursue the Company Secretaries course i.e. Foundation Programme, Executive Programme and Professional Programme. The student who would like to join the course after passing the graduation has to undergo two stages of the company secretaryship i.e. Executive Programme and Professional Programme. Foundation Programme can be done after 10+2 pass or equivalent students of Arts, Science or Commerce stream (excluding Fine Arts). Executive Programme can be done by a graduate with any stream except Fine Arts. Professional Programme can be done only after clearing the Executive Programme.

You have to clear all three stages of exam conducted by ICSI. I.e. Foundation, executive and then, CS professional.

How can you be in a company secretary? So, these are some of the steps for being a Company Secretary if you have completed your 12th, you can apply for a Foundation level exam which is called as entrance exam for CS that is company secretary. Foundation is the first level after clearing your CS Foundation. There are two executive group. After clearing your single group, you can apply for articleship which is for 18 months after completing your 18 months articleship and clearing both executive groups, you are eligible for applying final level which is called as the final exam. Also, two groups after clearing your both the groups, you will be a CS.
