There is no direct recruitment for fighter branch in Indian Air Force. You have following options to join Flying branch in IAF. (a) NDA examination application conducted by UPSC after 10+2 stage for PCM subject students. (b) If you are a science graduate, you may appear for CDS examination conducted by UPSC for joining the flying branch as a commissioned officer. (c) If you obtain NCC (Air) C certificate during Science graduation degree, you can appear for SSB directly. Sub-branch distribution between fighter, transport and helicopter is decided after the basic flying training. Distribution is done on the basis of flying aptitude and availability of vacancies.

Apply for NDA exam, which is conducted twice a year. Get through exam, SSB interview, PABT, Medical, and merit, then you will get a call letter for NDA. Spend three years, as air Force cadet and then spend another 1 and half year at AFA, you are ready to go now. All the best.
