A film director is the main man of any film and a person who makes a film. From scripting to music to cinematography, a director is responsible to look after monitor everything. It is not a salary based job. To start a career as a film director, one should work as an assistant director. Try to shoot documentaries, ad films, music video; you will have a fair idea of how to work as a film director. There are many universities which offer course related to film direction. Try to enroll. It will give you an idea of idea of how technicians work. To be a successful film director, always try to deliver something unique that should make your mark on the audience. The salary of a film director depends upon a production house he/she of working for. If you start your career as independent film director, your salary depends upon the profit. There is no fixed parameter to say what salary is offered to a film director.

The above question carries two queries at the same time. The latter asks for the Starting salary of a Director. I wish to make this humble submission that this 'profile' may not fit in for a salaried profile being a project based task. I am sure, someone working on as Assistant Director may reply with authentic details if any.
