Animators use powerful animation software and computers to create 2-D and 3-D animation for websites, film, video, gaming, and mobile media. Drawing and sculpting are basic requirements that create the foundation of this career but that is not all. You’ll need to have great passion for the filed that can be developed by: Creativity and imagination. Drawing and modelling skills. Communication and presentation skills. IT skills (Use of software) While certificate programs and Diploma programs in animation are available, most employers require that animators have at least a Bachelor's degree. With the growing demand of the animators, Bachelor's degree is the most common level of education for professional animators. The one thing that is of prime importance and goes a long way is the level of application of all the knowledge that one has learnt. It is the uniqueness that will enable you to grow further in the industry. There are some points you have to keep in mind: 1. Observe things as much as you can. 2. Feel your own movements and try to use them in your animation poses. 3. Observe people's reactions in different- different situations. 4. Sit in any park or any public place and sketch the situations, poses, expressions and the things in movement to understand them. 5. Do exercise to increase the visualization power, such as - keep any prop in pouch and keep your hand inside the pouch and now touch and observe the curves and body of the prop and sketch it without watching it. 6. Watch more and more movies and observe their movements according to camera and situations to understand the flow. By observing different camera angles, placements and movements with character animations you will get so many ideas. 7. Practice key-poses by your own or else draw them and then practice in the medium in which you wants to make your output. So, the important way to be an animator is to observe or to feel. In any industry, you have to struggle for 1 to 2 years, for a good package and facilities. Same is the case in this field. If you are lucky, then you can get a good company with package of Rs.1.8 lac's a year or else, the starting package for average is about Rs.1.5 lac's.
