To become an editor, you have to begin the career from sub-editor/ copy editor. After completing the graduation preferably in Journalism and Mass Communication, you will be able to join as sub-editor /copy editor in any print media or electronic media. The starting salary may be Rs. 15, 000 to Rs. 30,000 depending on your internship experience, performance and skills. After getting promotion, you will become an editor. An editor's salary varies from company to company. It may Rs. 50, 000 to Rs. 2.5 Lacs. If you want to become a video editor, then you have to do the related course such as multimedia, video editing etc. The starting level salary will be from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 35,000.
