Yes, you can use the sliding option. But it depends on the vacancy in CSE dept. Yes, you can change your department from mechanical to CSE at the end of first year through sliding process provided that you must have a CGPA greater than 8.5. As CSE is most demanded department and I may not assure you surely you will get CSE as vacancies should be there at the end of the counselling or one must slide from CSE to other department to create a vacancy.
