It requires a lot of efforts and dedication. Let's consider two scenarios. In first one, at least one good company visits your campus. In this case, you need to make sure you are among the top 3-5 of your batch to get selected by the company. You also need a strong understanding of fundamentals of the subjects and skills related to the field. If no good company comes to your campus then you have to rely on networking. Start forming your network on sites like LinkedIn from start. Try and get internships from well-reputed companies. Perform well at those internships. As I already mentioned, develop your skill set. For example Auto-Cad or Solid-works for mechanical engineers or C+, Python for CSE engineers. Make sure you become better than everyone else in some particular sub field/ sub-branch then you would have better chances of getting placed. Apart from all these, you should have excellent communication skills as these will be required not only in your interviews but also during internships and during your actual job. Best of luck!
