There are various universities which offer you to pursue PhD programme. The eligibility criteria varies in all the universities. You can appear in UGC NET Exam for pursuing PhD in India's top colleges. It's not compulsory that to appear in NET exam. There are also other exams through which you can get admission in PhD. You must have 55% aggregate marks to appear in NET examination. Know more about UGC NET from here -

So, start preparing for the entrance exams, because without qualifying these tests, you will not be eligible to pursue Ph.D. I hope it helps!

First, know your University and approach a Professor for Guide. Decide on a topic and prepare a brief synopsis of your theme. But, in the beginning, you must have 55+ and preferably, a NET qualification.
