You can certainly apply for a government job after clearing the SET exam. Appearing in KSET opens the doors of all the Karnataka based universities for you, but in order to get a job, you need to crack the interview. You have to look in for the various notifications which get published in newspapers and other employment dailies. The candidates can apply for the vacancy which suits them the most. The applications for the teaching post will be called in for different government schools. So you can apply for the suitable vacancies to each school separately. The short listed candidates will be called for the personal interview. Based on your performance in the interview you will be selected and appointed as lecturers.

The drawback of any lectureship exam is that you don't get a job based on your scores. You need to appear for interviews held at various universities to get the job. Appearing in KSET opens the doors of all the Karnataka based universities for you, but in order to get a job, you need to crack the interview. The interview is held at the university or its designated departments in the presence of a committee, including Dean of the department, lecturers, sometimes even the chancellor of the university is present when the interview is conducted. You need to be very presentable and accredited to make a positive impact on these high authorities. There is no prescribed syllabus for the interview, so you need to study everything regarding your stream. Make sure you don't leave any stone unturned. Keep yourself abreast with general awareness and latest innovation and research in your field to be better than other candidates.
