With the rise in technological advances, it is now possible to order food or medicines, to book a cab or hire a self driven car, or to buy movie or air tickets from the comforts of one's house, office or car. In today's smartphone world, there is an app for everything. Along with hundreds of third party apps for booking travel tickets, even major airlines and even the IRCTC for example has an app of their own fot booking airline or train tickets. You would think that all this rise of technology would deplete the need for ticketing agents and that in turn would mean the downfall of ticketing careers, right? Wrong! Along with the technological advances, what has increased is a persons need to travel and their spending capacities. More and more people are now travelling by aircrafts and under government. schemes like UDAN, even more people are bound to take the air route for their next journey. Not everyone is technologically literate and not everyone is comfortable yet using a smartphone to carry out banking transactions. As a result, with a rise in new potential customers, there always will be a rise in the demand for new ticketing agents at bigger and smaller cities. Anyone with a shop, a computer and an internet connection nowadays can become a ticketing agent and make a decent income from that. There always will be growth in the field of travelling and there is a very rare chance that demand for careers related to travelling will see a decline anytime soon.
