The field of architecture has evolved greatly over the years. A decade ago, the tools, approach and the method of application of the knowledge in architecture schools was very different from what we have today. Earlier the maps and designs were made with the use geometrical tools whereas in the current scenario, the use of computer software makes it easier. In short, technology has widened the scope and approach. Hence accordingly, there have been many additions to the syllabus and course structure. The entire programme has been given more practical approach. The primer institutions are also modifying their syllabus to suit the current industry demands. The placements have become more systematic and more talent based as now with the help of technology students are able to present more realistic projects and get better placements and better packages.

Hello! Since, you are worrying about the competitive environment between the methodology of old institutions and new institutions, I would like to throw the light on the current market conditions. In today's scenario, companies and architectural firms generally rely in those firms which are older. Because these older institutions have witnessed the market dynamics and changing pattern of corporate cultural. However, to be more specific for your query, the architecture schools like SPA and JJ have really evolved over the time. This evolution can be seen in the change of syllabus pattern, infrastructural development, activeness of 'Training & Placement Committee'. Now, during the tenure of B.Arch, you do atleast 3 industrial internship and numerous live projects. The labs and instrumental tools are also new, modified and as per industry standard. So gives you the chance to learn more practical learning. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
