You have to appear for LEET entrance exam to get the lateral entry in the second year.

In order to get direct admission in B.Tech 2nd year. you need to appear for LEET exam.

No need to face any exams. Just complete your diploma without any backlogs with a minimum of 60%. Then you can pursue B.Tech from any college or University. I would tell you to take admission in a university as it is better and easier under a university.
