CAT is one of the entry level exams for Master of business administration. The Best B-schools like majority of Indian Institute of Management will look for students with high percentile in CAT. Majority fail in CAT. Only 10 percent, who write the exam will qualify for GD and PI. Here, I suggest you some strategies to avoid mistakes in CAT exam preparation. Planning is very important to crack MAT in 6 months. So, my suggestions are: MAT is easy as compared to CAT. I was also a student who prepared for CAT immediately after my graduation. The important things which you should look into while preparing for this exam are as follows: 1. Select one of the best coaching centers which offer quality education- TIME is one of the famous coaching centers for CAT and MAT. 2. Dedication- Be focused on the aim which you need to achieve. 3. Try to read Hindu newspaper editorial. Most of the passages which appear in CAT are from Hindu editorial. 4. Try to do a maximum number of online mock tests. You will definitely clear CAT by doing the above. 5. Try to read as much as you can and make note of points. 6. Revision of each week’s topic is very important. 7. Mathematical ability questions will be little-twisted, try to do as fast as you can. 8. Be dedicated to it and be regular to the classes. These are my tips for you to crack CAT.

Below are the few tips to avoid mistakes in CAT: A- Be punctual on "D" Day: It is very much necessary to be on time at the test venue to avoid any sort of panic. Be cool and keep confidence while appearing. B- Last minute preparation: To give your best. Do not learn new tricks at the very last moment. This increases chances of confusion especially in case of mathematics problems C- Don't get emotionally attached with a problem: Sometimes candidates get very attached to a problem and forget that the time is running. This is even worse when a candidate thinks that he/she had spent 3 minutes to a question and it will be a mistake to leave in between. But the truth is you need to save time and optimize your score. Each question has equal weight-age whether it is an easy or a difficult one. Keep Calm.
