Web developer can be divided into 2 major areas - Front end developer and back end developer. Learning HTML and basic CSS and Javascript is necessary for both front end and back end developer. It's not really easy to get a job as a web developer without having a proper technical graduation degree with yourselves but yes there variety of certificate courses with some NIELIT and ISO certified institutes that you can take up one by one to kick start yourselves a web developer. Also, there are many other platforms like Udacity and Plural Sight where you can take paid courses online and even take assignments and tests that would leave you with their certifications and such sites may also enable you to do a real time project which you can complete and submit and join as a freelancer with these sites or some other apps. But with either of the two means you can begin with freelancing job as web developer.

You just need to learn HTML, CSS and PHP/JavaScript and SQL. All are very easy, you can also do DCA diploma in computer application – 1 year or other short period courses.
